How it works
How to take orders on WhatsApp in 2 minutes
GroupOrder Bot turns the WhatsApp chats your customers already use into an order-taking system. No more scrolling a busy group chat and copying orders into a notebook — here's exactly how it works for a South African small business.
- 1
Connect your WhatsApp number
Scan a QR code once on a spare phone (WhatsApp → Linked Devices → Link a Device). That number becomes your dedicated business bot — linked in under 30 seconds, no WhatsApp Business API or Facebook approval required.
- 2
Choose how your customers order
Use group ordering, where customers order in a shared WhatsApp group, or private ordering, where they DM your bot one-on-one. You can run either mode or both, and switch any time.
- 3
Send your menu and open a round
In group mode, tap Send & Start Orders and the bot broadcasts your price list and opens the round automatically. In private mode, tap Send via WhatsApp to share your formatted price list with any contact.
- 4
Watch orders arrive live, then export
Every order appears on your dashboard the moment it arrives, with auto-calculated totals and a running aggregate per product. The bot confirms each customer automatically. End the round when you're done and export the CSV.
Group ordering vs private ordering
Group ordering suits businesses with a regular customer list — a butchery or spaza shop that posts a Saturday special to a WhatsApp group. Private ordering suits one-on-one customers or sensitive products, where each person DMs your bot and nobody else sees their order. Most businesses start with one and add the other later.
- No technical knowledge needed
